I have studied, travelled and lived abroad for over 10 years and during that time I had the opportunity to experience different cultures and languages. My passion for languages and cultures has certainly flourished throughout my education and travels, and have without doubt, had an enormous impact on who I am and what I do today. I studied MA in Language Teaching and Communication at Birkbeck University in London and I have been teaching languages since then. I find it extremely rewarding to teach Slovak to foreign students. As an experienced tutor I always listen and talk to my students and I do not make them feel uneasy because I know that the relationship between me and my students is very important.
I have lived in London since September 2008. My home town is Budapest where I studied English and graduated as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language and I am a Primary School Teacher as well. Currently I am working as a Supply Teacher in primary schools in London and have a part time job as a Hungarian-English Interpreter. I like the diversity of London, the way that people keep their mother tongue and think it might be a gift of life to be bilingual. As I see, children are able to pick both languages up quickly and easily, especially in the young ages. I joined London School of Languages and I am very pleased to teach Hungarian language to small adult groups using the English teaching methods but keeping the Hungarian spirit and love of this unique language and culture.
I am an enthusiastic Italian teacher qualified at the Italian Cultural Institute of London with a TIAFL ‘Teaching Italian as a Foreign Language’ certificate and a Master’s degree (Distinction) in Italian Literature and Linguistics from University of Bologna. Becoming a language teacher has come naturally with my love for different cultures: I have studied and lived abroad for a long time, experiencing different cultures, languages and habits and enjoying this diversity as a great asset. Having been myself a student of foreign languages, I have loved motivation and gratification involved in the step-by-step learning process. For these reasons I find extremely rewarding teaching my language to foreign students and involving them into the Italian world with its natural and artistic heritage, social customs and peculiarities. My teaching method is based on a communicative approach which enables the student to easily gain confidence in the speaking ability, supported by specific activities focused on grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary.
